The New Year Brings Cartoons

A slightly belated Happy New Year to you all. I think the rule is that you can keep wishing people a happy new year until the third week in January, so I’m in well under the wire. This cartoon by William Steig is a good sentiment, not only for New Year’s Eve but for the coming year and all the ones to follow.

New Year’s can actually be quite nice, provided you don’t overdo it.

Which I don’t; I’m usually safely at home, watching Times Square revel and Dick Clark age.

The only real drawback to New Year’s is the resolution part, which always reminds me how little resolution I have:

Which makes New Year’s the perfect holiday for me. In fact, it’s so good we should have it more often.
