Cover Story: The Big Game

Barry Blitt, the artist responsible for this week’s cover, “The Big Game,” won’t be watching the Super Bowl. “I don't follow football at all,” says Blitt. “I follow hockey—I'm Canadian, so I have to. And the only thing football and hockey have in common is concussions. I wish I could use hockey as a satirical metaphor for politics, but no one would let me, and I wouldn't blame them.”

The February 6, 2012, issue of The New Yorker will be on newsstands Monday, January 30.
