An Accelerated Thanksgiving

Like it or not, the holiday season is breathing down our necks. Thanksgiving kicks off the whole shebang, with the poor turkeys sacrificing their necks for our guts.

At The New Yorker, to put everyone in the mood, we have some Thanksgiving-themed fare served up in our cafeteria. If you want, you can get your turkey and stuffing with a side order of relatives to make it feel like a real Thanksgiving. In the latest episode of The Cartoon Lounge, I eschew that option and instead chew on an excellent turkey sandwich accompanied by the soon-to-be, if not already, traditional pumpkin spice latte.

Very enjoyable. On the other hand, Thanksgiving, let’s face it, often is not. On the day we’re supposed to be most thankful, many of us will be most thankful when it’s over. Still, if Thanksgivings were always great, there would be no good cartoons about it. So, here’s an enjoyable slide show about the downside of the holiday:
