Perfume Genius, né Mike Hadreas, will release his third album, “Too Bright,” on September 23rd. In his review in this week’s issue, Sasha Frere-Jones writes, “‘Too Bright’ is one of the most encouraging albums of the moment, in its delivery of exuberant sounds by a spiky, unbiddable performer.” For The New Yorker, Hadreas performed a song from the album, “I Decline,” at a studio in lower Manhattan.
