Ghosts of Gezi
Hülya Şahin Alp and Fatma Şen were among the openly pious Muslims who protested in Istanbul’s Gezi Park last year. The protests, which began on May 28th to block a development project, grew into a fractious national expression of political discontent. Turkey remains divided.
