Slide Show: The Sochi Olympics County Fair

For the past few weeks, Misha Friedman has been in Russia to cover the Winter Olympics for the magazine. One of the attractions he has visited is the Sochi Fan Zone, a carnival-like venue that allows enthusiasts to pose in front of murals depicting Russian athletes. Friedman likened the scene to a county fair, where Russians can, for a moment, at least, escape into the sheer spectacle of the Sochi Games.
