There were so many things that mattered to our family this year, it’s hard to know where to begin. How about with the One Secret Fact That Is Guaranteed To Blow Your Mind? O.K., here goes: our Samantha just got her acceptance letter from Brown this week. She got in early decision, and will be off to Providence next August!
There’s so much else worth sharing. Like This One Crazy Story That Will Reshape The Way You Think About Marriage Forever. We’re talking about our son, Rob, who tied the knot with our lovely new daughter-in-law, Katie, in August, at a tasteful ceremony over at the country club.
The First Part Of This Next One Will Make You Sick. The Next Part Will Make You Angry. But The Last Part Will Make You Grateful That You Are Alive. Our septic system failed this June. We had to hire a contractor to tear up the whole back yard to fix it. But then we decided to redo the porch and garden at the same time, and now the place looks gorgeous.
What’s The Last Thing You Expected My Husband To Take On As A Hobby But Once You Hear It, It’s So Obvious That You Want To Slap Yourself? Building ships in a bottle, of course! Big Tim has been down in the basement all fall tinkering with those things.
As for me, I Never Thought That This Remarkable Thing Would Ever Happen To Me, And Then It Did. I joined a book club at the library in town!
What Do 9 Of 10 Of You Not Know About Our Big Family Vacation? On the first day, we saw fifty kinds of birds. By the second day, my photos of the tortoises were the greatest ever taken. On the third, you wouldn’t believe how much fun we had out on the catamaran.
Phew, what a year. It was all so surprising. But funny. And sad. But amazing!
